Rainbow bus stop-episode 1

rainbow1

Hello, my name is Rainbow. Hey, don’t laugh! I hate it when people laugh about my name. But my real name’s not rainbow. That’s just my nickname. My real name is too long and too hard to pronounce. So, my mom called me rainbow when I was little. Don’t ask me how I got that name, Rainbow. It’s a long story. So now I’m 17 and people still call me rainbow. But I don’t mind. Enough about my name. Let’s move on with the story I’m going to tell. A story about a place that I’m going to miss. A place called rainbow bus stop. Let’s start from the beginning.

I’m a weird girl and I do weird things. My friends say I’m not weird but unique and one of a kind. But they’re just saying that to make me feel better. I still think I’m weird.

Anyway, one of the things that make me weird is I like to be alone most of the time. I know what you’re thinking. You’re saying that I’m not weird, I’m actually a loner. I think being a loner means that I’m weird. It’s the same thing. You see whenever it rains at my house my tummy hurts really bad. It happens every time it rains. It’s really weird. Because there’s no connection between my tummy and the rain. I’m kind of afraid of the rain and maybe my fear is making my tummy hurt. So, whenever my tummy starts hurting I grab my umbrella, put on my red boots and my black coat and head outside. I don’t know why I do that. I just feel like I need to see the rain and comfort myself by saying it’s okay and it’s just rain, it can’t hurt me. I used to just walk in the rain. And when it stops raining I head back home. It’s really boring and I’m exhausted when I go home. One day, it was raining heavily and it didn’t stop. It rained for like 2 hours and I was walking around the park non-stop. I walked like 10 times around the park. The sky was still dark and the rain was still falling so I stopped walking. I looked around the park to find a bench to sit on. The first bench I found was too dirty, the second bench was too small but the third bench I found was just right. It was the bench at the bus stop now known as the rainbow bus stop. It had a roof, a clean bench and lots of space. And the view was great. If you sit there you could see a magnificent garden in front of you, a road full of cars passing by. The bus stop is on the park, facing the road and the garden. The garden is big. It’s kind of like an empty land filled with flowers, a hedge maze, a fountain and everything a garden has. It’s more like a flower park than a garden. The garden or flower park has flowers as far as your eye can see. The bus stop was a great place to sit. The best part is how the rain sounds when it beats on the ground and how the rain is everywhere surrounding the bus stop. It’s like you’re in a transparent box in a pool of water. All you see is rain. It’s a place where you can just breathe and relax. I like how the rain smells like oxygen. There’s nothing else like it.

There’s one more thing at this bus stop that makes this place famous. After the rains clears you’ll get to see a beautiful, colourful rainbow in the flowerpark /garden. It really is the most beautiful rainbow in the world. I was just amazed by its beauty. At first I thought it was just a one time thing. That I was just lucky to see a rainbow there. But the rainbow was there again the next day and the next day and the day after that. Every time it stops raining and the sun starts to shine you’ll get to see a rainbow right there. It’s crazy. This bus stop might be a great place to sit and relax but there’s nobody here. Nobody comes here to wait for a bus because the bus doesn’t stop here. The bus usually stops a couple of blocks away because it’s way better there. People don’t want to stop here because there’s nothing here. That’s what they think. So, this perfect place is just for me and it’s my secret. I kept this place a secret for a long time but then someone find out about it. And it’s all my fault. I just had to open my mouth.

This old bus stop is going to be demolished tomorrow. That’s what it says in this notice attached to it. They say it’s dangerous and it’s a waste of space. That’s a total lie. There’s nothing I can do about it. Here I am sitting in the remains of this bus stop holding an umbrella over my head because they already took away the roof. What’s left of this bus stop is the bench where I’m sitting right now. I can’t believe they think this thing is dangerous. I can remember only two incidents that they can categorize as dangerous. Just two. And no one got hurt. I think.
